The Fair at the PNE: Part 1

Summer’s not complete without making a trip to the PNE. It’s a summer tradition for me and living within a short distance makes it that much easier to go. Since this year they raised the admission price to $20, I took advantage of their late night special, which is $5 for admission after 9pm.

I went 2 days in a row with Es S… haha you’ll find out the reason later on this post.

First off we went to the marketplace, here are some pictures:

oxygen bar… LOL

There was a table selling these freaky looking clown statues or figures

Some nice looking arpons

After, we made our way to the food……We passed by the Sonic booth and they had people dancing on stage… can you spot the BIG FOIG? 😀

Blowfish Sushi

2828 East Hastings Street #107
Vancouver, BC

I been to Blowfish a few times but have never blogged about it due to laziness. So I finally decided to blog about it and this time around, I was a bit disappointed. The other times I’ve been there, the food has been consistently good and the prices are cheap so I really shouldn’t complain lol…

I decided to get the Deluxe Bento Box- Choose from Chicken, Beef, Salmon or Tofu Teriyaki Choose from Ebi, Tako or Vegetable Sunomono Soup Served with Tempura Taster, Chicken Karaage, California Roll, Green Salad & Miso Soup. It was a good deal at $12.95. I chose chicken terriyaki and ebi sunomono.

First came the miso soup; nothing special, just regular miso soup.

The ebi sunomono arrived after. I liked how they give you two pieces of good sized shrimp as opposed to those small shrimps. This was good, good balance of sweet and sour.

Summers almost over :(

Hello everyone! It has been a busy and fun filled week; it was my birthday on Tuesday and I celebrated it with friends and family. Just want to say thank you for everyone who came out and celebrated it with me and thanks for the great presents! 🙂 I was too lazy to bring my camera so I didn’t take any pictures, but we went to Burgoo for dinner, then watched friends with benefits and went to Sweet Revenge afterward for some delicious desserts.

I love the card M made for me! LOL my favourite part is where Cory is holding a boom box singing Jesse’s girl. I love homemade cards ( especially funny ones).

The card Es S gave me is also very cute! LOL I love dogs so this card was perfect.

Pearl Castle

After nightmarket, we originally wanted to go to Bubble Queen, but it was closed so we decided to go Pearl Castle instead.

Since it was late, there were a lot of parking spots. Good thing for me because I am bad at parking… :$

We all ordered drinks and shared two snacks

I ordered the Wheat germ green milk tea. Sorry for the blurry photo… my camera skills are horrible.

Bill Gates daughter ordered a Peach milk tea with pearls.

Granville Island + Bridges Restaurant

Going to Granville Island brings back great childhood memories. I loved going there as a child and still do to this day. I went with my father a few weeks back and the weather forecast for that day said rain, but it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day.

It must be nice living by Granville Island; nice views and steps away from the public market, what’s not to love?

This will be a combined post of Granville Island and Bridges restuarant review, so it will be longer than usual.

We went to Bridges for lunch and to be honest, I didn’t enjoy it that much. More on that later.

My current wishlist

Hello everyone! I was fooling around with Polyvore and decided to create my current wishlist. These are mostly things for fall, excluding the lense. I would say the lense is currently #1 on my wishlist, but sadly it costs $459 😦 I would say the Nars sheer glow foundation is #2 on my list. Anyways enough about myself, what is on your current wishlist? Comment below!

Cafe Medina

556 Beatty Street                                                                                               Vancouver BC

I’ve seen a lot of photos and posts about the waffles at Cafe Medina, and being a waffle lover, I have been wanting to try it for a while now.

I went to Cafe Medina with S a while back. When we went, they said we would have to wait 10 minutes, but we only had to wait a few minutes.

The place is a lot smaller than I expected and dimly lit.

S and I both got one waffle each with 1 topping. S got waffle with raspberry caramel topping and I got waffle with white chocolate pistachio rosewater topping. Both were equally delicious.

Rant: My watch is not a man’s watch

My watch.. it has caused quite the commotion. I’ve never wore watches before, but I fell in love with this Michael Kors watch which my parents got for me in Vegas.

This watch is the Women’s Chronograph Gold Tone Stainless Steel Bracelet.

I’ve gotten a lot of comments about this watch- “Look at the size of that watch”, “That’s a big watch you got there”, “Gold is not in, you should have gotten a silver watch instead”, etc.

There was this one time I was waiting for the bus and this rude man with no manners and poor hygiene said ” You’re wearing a man’s watch. It’s ok though because it does the same job- tell time”. I politely said it was a woman’s watch or why else would I have gotten it? He argued back and said the same thing. What’s the point of telling me then? Do I care? No! Anyways, the point is, regardless if it is a male’s or female’s watch, does it matter? A watch is a watch, and in most cases it is used for telling time.

Sockeye City grill + Timothy’s frozen yogurt

108-3800 Bayview Street
Steveston, BC V7E 6K7

When I was in Steveston, I went to Sockeye City grill for lunch. One of my main motives for visiting Steveston was to try this place.

I saw large amount of people ordering fish and chips, but I wasn’t in the mood to eat a meal consisting solely of deep fried foods.

I got a non-alcoholic lime margarita… because I’m not 19 yet LOL
