Yesterday I went to West 4th with M because she wanted to get shoes from Gravity Pope, unfortunately it didn’t work out.
Before we went to Gravity Pope, we went to Joe’s Grill for brunch
I got the waffle combo. It comes with two waffles, two eggs, two bacon, two sausages and fruit. Good thing we went early because it got really busy.
We were a bit early and Gravity Pope wasn’t open yet, so we went into this shop a few doors down
The fall semester is almost over, only 4 days left of classes, which means… the dreaded finals. I haven’t been doing much this week, all I wanted to do was stay home. I only went out yesterday with Es S to eat lunch in downtown. There were so many people at the mall, guess every is starting their Christmas shopping.
I’ve been too lazy to carry around my camera to take pictures, so I just use my iPhone camera. I should really use my camera more since I recently got a new lens, would be a waste of money if I didn’t use it often.
Today I was originally going to cook lunch, but there was nothing to cook! There were veggies, but being the carnivore I am, I really wanted to eat some meat ( chicken to be more specific).
So I got a lemon grass chicken with shredded pork and meat cake from Song Huong because it’s the closet restaurant to my house. I ordered this last time and thought it was pretty good so I ordered it again.
Yesterday after class, Es S and I went to Salam Bombay for some Indian cuisine because she was craving it.
Finally, I get a chance to try Clubhouse Sushi’s okonomiyaki! I’ve been wanting to try their okonomiyaki for some time now, but because it’s only available dinner time, I never find the chance to. This time I went with M, and we went right when it opened for dinner at 5pm
We were greeted and promptly seated. Our server was very nice and attentive throughout our meal.
We started off with one of the sushi’s on their daily specials, avocado and tempura tuna roll. This was really good, the combination of ripe avocado and tempura tuna went well together. M said the tuna tasted like chicken, guess that why they call it chicken of the sea eh 😛
Next came the octopus calamari. These were served with a side of mayo and were good; crispy and not too oily but a tad salty. I wish there was more though, there wasn’t a lot in one serving.
Today has been a frustrating day. Apparently my email has a virus and has been sending out spam emails.
I got laser done on my face yesterday, but I’m also quite disappointed. My face is swollen on one side and there hasn’t been any changes. I’ve read online that you need at least 3 treatments to see any reduction of redness for rosacea, but this dermatologist only did one treatment and never said anything about other treatments. So I’m planning on going to see another dermatologist for more laser treatments.
Anyways, Es S gave me a few luscious lemon pudding from recipe to riches to try
I thought it was pretty good actually, and I don’t usually enjoy citrus desserts.
I also had some pho yesterday from Bon Cafe.
I didn’t actually eat any Swedish meatballs today, but I’m pretty sure some people will get the title ;).
Anyways, this is what I made for lunch today:
I made a warm chicken salad with onions, red bell peppers, mozzarella and tomatoes. Usually I get lazy and make salads because they don’t require a lot time.
I have an appointment tomorrow with a dermatologist specializing in laser. I’m anxious and excited at the same time for that since I’ve been waiting a while for it.
November has gone by fairly quickly, soon it will be my favourite holiday, Christmas! Speaking of Christmas, I should start thinking about present shopping, but I always leave that to the last minute haha. All pictures on this post is taken with my new iPhone.
Today M and I went to see The Ides of March. Before that, we went to Fresh Bowl for lunch. We shared 2 dishes but here’s a picture of the Mee Goreng.
Monday: Dinner from Song Huong restaurant
Lemon grass chicken, shredded pork and meat pie on rice
Painted my nails. I don’t enjoy painting my nails because I suck at it 😛
Friday: curry beef on rice from Little Bubble Tea House for lunch
2549 Cambie Street
Vancouver, BC V5Z3Y6
I noticed a while back that a new La Taqueria had opened up on Cambie Street. I’ve never been to the one on Hastings even though I’ve passed by it numerous times. I finally went to the Cambie location with Es S to try some tasty tacos. To be honest, it took me so long to try it because I wanted to go with Es S so she could order the tacos ( she took Spanish in high school) :$. I didn’t want to embarrass myself with my horrible Spanish ( which I never learned). LOL the cute guy working there kept going ” perfecto” to Es S’ pronunciation, good thing I didn’t order or he would have probably laughed at my pronunciation.
Meat tacos are $2.50 each or 4 for $9.50. Veggie tacos are $2 each or 4 for $7.
Es S and I went for 4 meat tacos:
I decided to make these chocolate mustache lollipops because it’s Movember!
I saw mustache molds at Michaels so I decided to make some chocolate mustache’s.
Here’s what you need:
( Left) Chocolate molds. ( Right) Candy melts or chocolate wafers. Mold and candy melts purchased from Michaels, chocolate wafers can be purchased at most grocery stores.
I just followed the instructions on the back of the candy melts. But be careful, it’s really easy to burn chocolate! The chocolate should be glossy and have a smooth consistency
