Hello readers! Now that school has commenced, I’ve been eating out way too much. Even though I do pack lunches, sometimes it’s just easier to grab something at school. It doesn’t help that now that I’m at a new school, I have a desire to try the food places on campus. So far, the food I’ve tried on campus have exceeded my expectations, with a good selection of foods to choose from. I’ve been enjoying the free samples given on campus because who doesn’t like free stuff?

I know I’ve been blogging about food lately, but I’ll try to blog about other things! Thanks for reading 🙂

Quest For The Perfect Sandwich

I’m not a big sandwich person, but from time to time I get a craving for one. For myself, my ideal sandwich has to have some sort of meat and good bread. Since school has started, I have been making sandwiches more often for it’s convenience and ease of transport. Last week I decided to make a sandwich with some leftover ingredients from the fridge:

Ingredients used:

  • Light rye bread
  • smoke chorizo sausage
  • over easy egg
  • caramelized onion
  • shredded cheese (mozzarella & provolone)

It turned out to be too salty, partly due to the chorizo and partly due to my over- salted caramelized onions. If i were to make this again, I would add some something to balance the saltiness, perhaps some sort of pickled vegetable. You can read my other post where I make a katsu sandwich here

So what is your favourite sandwich? My favourite sandwich is the Vietnamese banh mi, I just love the combination of flavours and the airy baguette.

I’m Back

Hello! After a brief hiatus from blogging, I’m back. I’ve been adjusting back to the student life and it’s been hard. It’s only the second week of school and I’m already swamped with readings and quizzes to study for. Since I haven’t done much other than school lately, here are some photos I took prior to labor day:

{Lunch at Bob Likes Thai accompanied by a Thai iced tea}

{Blueberry cheesecake from Trees Organic}

{Watermelon Italian cream soda from Trees Organic}

{Tofu and BBQ squid from Taiwan Festival}

{Homemade phyllo tarts with rosewater pastry cream topped with berry coulis}

So that’s it for this post, thanks for reading!
