Weekend Recap: Enjoying the Hot Weather In Vancouver

This past weekend in Vancouver has been hot temperature wise. Originally I had plan to go on a road trip with some school friends but I just started a new job and I wasn’t sure if i could get time off, so I didn’t end up going. Instead, I took advantage of the nice weather and spent time with family and high school friends! My weekend was a little too indulgent, but it’s Monday and I’m back to the clean eating grind.

I spent most of my weekend at the beach, more specifically at Spanish Banks. I like Spanish Banks because I find it less busy than the other beaches in Vancouver and there is free parking!

Friday: froyo, beach and family time

Prior to the beach, my cousin and I stopped by Scoop on West 4th to get some frozen yogurt. I got the lavender flavour while my cousin got the matcha flavour.

{Me and my frozen yogurt}

Spanish Banks was really quiet on the Friday afternoon we went. I didn’t mind though, it was quite nice actually.

After the beach I had a family dinner with my moms side of the family. I didn’t take any pictures of that but there was a lot of food!

Saturday: catching up with old friends and the beach again

May Lately

Now that I’m on my summer break, it’s nice not having to stress over school. This week I’ve been really sick, so I haven’t done much except for visits to the hospital, going to my internship and working out with my personal trainer.

Here are some pictures from last weekend + Monday:

{Chicken and waffle from Scadilicious on Victoria Drive. I love how they used a cornbread waffle for this dish}

On Sunday, after visiting Eat! Vancouver, my dad wanted to go to Steveston, so we enjoyed the lovely sunny evening there…

My Week In Photos

The weather in Vancouver has been bipolar lately. Last week the weather was like summer but this week, it returned to typical rainy Vancouver. On rainy days, I like to stay home and do nothing… I wish I could do that everyday but my life would be boring and meaningless. Anyways, I bought a photo editing app on my phone and since I don’t usually buy apps, I justified my purchase by using it excessively. Here is my week in photos:

{Baked Portuguese chicken on rice from Mui Garden. The food came out incredibly slow and service was bad but this dish was not bad}

{Checked out the Target in Coquitlam and bought 2 shirts}

On Friday, SAW and I watched The Great Gatsby. I read the book last summer for an English course and I loved it, but I thought the movie was average. I did however enjoy the music in the movie, especially the Lana Del Rey song!

{My outfit for my outing with SAW}

{Before the movie, we ate Korean food for lunch. Pictured above is dduk bok gee}

What I’ve Been Up To

November is going to be an extremely hectic month for me, I’m counting down the days until my last exam in December. My research methods class has been a big pain;I have a new found appreciation for researchers. Here’s some pictures of what I’ve been up to:

{Stepping on colorful leaves on my way to the bus stop}

{Studying biology with a royal tea latte from Marulilu Cafe}

{Eating New York cheesecake flavoured frozen yogurt topped with mochi and cheesecake from Qoola}

{Eating 10 inch chicken wrap from Taco Louis. FYI this wrap is great for poor students like myself, it only cost me $4.10 and it was very filling}

{Lastly, visiting Yuki after a long week}

I hope everyone has a good weekend and thanks for reading (even though I haven’t been updating much)!

Weekend Randoms

This week has been an eventful week. I watched Bourne Legacy with S.A.W and L, and I was a bit disappointed. The only thing I really enjoyed about the movie was Jeremey Renner… LOL.  I am also no longer unemployed, which I am happy about. Here are some pictures of my week from my phone:

{Got a surprise visit from Yuki. Doesn’t she looks adorable in this picture?}

{My dad found his old SLR camera and I’ve been playing around with}

 {Earl Grey tea and rosewater macaron’s from Leonidas}

{Watermelon, taro, green tea and original flavour frozen yogurt from yogen fruz. I love the new Yogen Fruz on Robson street!}

Hope everyone has a good weekend and thanks for reading!

My Week

This week has been spent lounging around at home, riding my newly fixed bike and catching up with S.A.W. Here are some things from my week:

This song has been stuck in my head for the past week:

{Bought this ring holder and necklace stand to reorganize my accessories}

{Matcha milk from Fujiya}

{Homemade lunch: pasta, chicken and salad}

Feels Like Summer

Like mentioned in yesterday posts, this post will be about my Friday. I had my last exam on Friday and planned to go high tea with S.A.W and Bill Gate’s Daughter then watch Hunger games after.

Before high tea, I met up with S.A.W at one of my favourite stores,Front and Company on Main Street. Here’s some pictures I took while I was there:

{I spotted these rings that look a lot like YSL’s arty ring. These rings are around $20 but they seem to only carry one size though}

{ I wanted to get this magnet because I love the quote, but it was a bit pricey for a magnet}

{High Tea at Faubourgh. My first time going for high tea and I enjoyed it}

This and That….

Some random stuff for today:

{One Direction dolls LOL. Will you be purchasing the Zayn one Prince V?}

{Frozen Yogurt with cookie dough, cheesecake pieces and strawberries from Menchies}

{Breakfast I made today: hashbrown with onions, turkey bacon and egg whites. Yum!}

My last exam is tomorrow and I cannot wait until I can have my life back; that is until summer semester starts again. S and I will be going for high tea for the first time, and I must say I am super excited! The only thing I am not excited about is the price; why must high tea’s be so pricey? Definitely not within my student budget LOL.

My Week in Phone Photos

This week has been a busy week preparing for finals and on top of that, my home internet is having problems. People who know me know what I have the most bizarre dreams, dreams that would make Freud proud LOL. I’ve been having some weird dreams about marriage and kids lately, I’m hoping these dreams aren’t foreshadows of my future haha.

Anyways, here are some pictures I took throughout the week:

P.S. Follow me on Instagram @jessicayet 🙂

Monday:

{Home made blueberry bran muffins minus raisins- just the way I like them!}

Tuesday:

{Enjoying an original flavored frozen yogurt with strawberries from Yogen Fruz before night class}

{Dinner at Angel Cafe with my mom; chicken steak, baked oyster and a baked potato}

Wednesday:

My Week in Phone Pictures

This week has been quite stressful, with 2 midterms next week, I’ve been frantically studying. Sadly, I will not to going to Dine Out Vancouver this year because it just so happens to fall during midterm season 😦

I’ve also started uploading my photo’s on Flickr and posting them here because I’ve run out of uploading space on my blog. When I delete the pictures, they don’t appear on the post, a reason why in some of my old post the pictures aren’t showing.

Stressful week means a week eating my favourite foods. Here are some food picture from my phone from this past week:

More Yogen Fruz! This time I went for original non fat w/ strawberries

Eating my favourite spicy salmon combo from Sushi Nanaimo. I forgot to take a picture before I started eating, hence the missing cucumber roll 😛

Mocha Macaron from Footo delights in downtown.

Frozen takoyaki from T&T supermarket. I added my own sauce, mayo and bonito flakes.

Pulled pork sandwich on whole wheat bun & baked potatoe wedges that I made for lunch today. More like assembled because I didn’t actually make the pulled pork, my mom brought it back from her work place.

On the plus side, I got a good amount of money from Chinese New Years which I won’t be spending anytime soon because I don’t enjoy shopping when I have midterms coming up, I find it too distracting.
