Lately I’ve been experiencing some health scares. It was a wake-up call for me because as a 21 year old, I still have a long life ahead of me. A combination of unhealthy eating habits, stress, lack of sleep and lack of motivation to exercise created an unhealthy lifestyle. A recent unsettling event also triggered me to binge eat, which made matters worse. Now I’m on a mission to change my lifestyle, which includes eating healthier and exercising regularly. I’ve hired a personal trainer to help motivate me to exercise, in addition to teaching me how to exercise effectively and properly. I’m not going to lie, as a person who loves food, making healthier eating choices is hard! Cooking at home allows me to control what I eat and also saves me money.
But when I do go out to eat, I try to order healthier items. Recently, I’ve been enjoying Burgoo’svegiterranean sandwich accompanied by their kale and quinoa salad. Although I love to eat meat, I love the combination of the vegetables in this sandwich.
Hello! I’ve been inactive on this blog for quite some time… a whole month to be exact. I guess I’ve been caught up with life and school. I’m almost finish my exams, I have one more on Monday. Well, I guess I should address why I haven’t updated my blog in a whole month. I don’t go in-depth about my personal life on this blog, but I thought I would share.
I’ve been trying to figuring out life, while working on issues I have with myself. I guess you could call it a process of self-discovery. Growing up, I had social anxiety, which prevented me from doing many things. I don’t think it’s up until recently that I’m finally overcoming this social anxiety and part of it is doing things that deviate from what I would consider “normal” of myself. Growing up, I would constantly receive negative comments on my appearance and that was really detrimental to my self-esteem and it was a major factor that contributed to my social anxiety.
I don’t know where this post is going, so I’ll end it here. I will be posting new posts soon and thank you for reading!
