Olymel Chicken Krispy Toast Review

Hey everyone! I’ll be doing a review on Olymel Chicken Krispy Toast. I originally wasn’t going to buy this, but my brother wanted to try it and they were also having a $2 off Olymel product promotion at T&T, so we decided to give it a try.It has anĀ  interesting concept; breaded and fully cooked chicken breast cutlettes shaped like a slice of toast, hence the name krispy toast. You heat it in the toaster and it can be eaten in a sandwich, salad or with your favourite dip.

Eat! Fraser Valley: Food + Cooking Festival

Last Sunday, I dragged my dad to Abbotsford so we could go to Eat! Fraser Valley. Unfortunately Es S had work, so she was unable to come with us.

One of the main reasons for coming here was to see Chuck Hughes. He was at Eat! Vancouver two years ago and he was hilarious. Also helps that he’s easy on the eyes šŸ˜‰

I made it just on time for his last show on Sunday. Chuck is very entertaining and kept the audience laughing the whole show.

I didn’t take that many pictures because I was feeling lazy, but here are some of the pictures I took:

These were very refreshing

Risotto balls, quina salad, and edamame salad. I didn’t get to try these but I wanted to

Making Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is one of my favourite Japanese dishes, I don’t know why, but I guess I like pancakes/ cakes in general.

I like making okonomiyaki at home because it allows me to add whatever ingredients I desire ( ha!).

I usually buy this brand of okonomiyaki batter mix fron T&T supermarket. Sorry, I am not sure what the name of this is because it’s in Japanese, but this batter is good for two okonomiayki’s.

I like this brand because it includes more than just the batter mix. It also includes nori flakes, tempa crisp and yam powder and instructions written in English.

For my okonimyaki, I used coleslaw mix ( I was lazy), onions, and turkey bacon. I would recommend you not to use coleslaw mix like I did because it was a bit too bitter.I usually include green onions, but I didn’t have any that day

For this package you will need:

  • 3/4 cups of water
  • 2 eggs
  • cabbage
  • green onions ( optional)
  • bacon ( optional)
  • other veggies you like ( optional)
  • okonomiyaki sauce
  • Japanese mayonnaise
  • Bonito flakes

You start off by mixing the yam powder with 3/4 cups of water until the powder is dissolved

After, add the okonomiyaki batter mix and whisk until blended

Mix until there are no lumps

Recent H&M purchases

H&M is one of my favourite places to shop; it’s affordable and fashionable. Their quality may not be the greatest, but I don’t mind because I usually don’t keep my clothes for very long anyways.

Here are my most recent purchases:

Light pink sleeveless blouse with contrasting black collar & scarf. I’ve been searching for a long, big scarf and this one is only $7.95!

I love the collar and how it contrasts with the pink!

I also got this white blouse with ruffle accent and a white tank ( pictured underneath).

I don’t like doing these sort of post as much because I find it a hassle to take pictures of clothes & other purchases. But I do want to change things up a bit, post about a variety of things šŸ˜›

New School Bag

I finally got a new school bag, even though school started two weeks ago haha. I usually don’t use backpacks for school, I prefer large totes or something similar. I finally found the perfect school bag for me yesterday when I went shopping at Metrotown.

Here is the bag I got:

It’s from Lululemon and it’s the Triumph tote. I tried searching for it online, but they don’t seem to have it on their website yet…

Rice Burgers @ Marulilu Cafe

Marulilu is one of my favourite cafes to visit. I frequent Marulilu because of its convenient location and because of their diverse, delicious menu. Marulilu has a new addition to their menu: rice burgers! The only other time I’ve tried rice burgers was last year at the nightmarket, so I was curious about Marulilu’s version.

After our classes, M and I made our way to Marulilu to try their rice burgers.

They have two flavours: Sukiyaki or Buta Kimuchi. We got one of each flavour.

I visited The Main about a month and a half ago, I just never got around to blogging about it LOL.I went to my aunts house with Es S to play with their dog Yuki and they asked us to join them for dinner.

The Main serves up mederterranian food along with pastas and pizzas and also has live musical performances.

It was empty when we arrived, it was still early so I wasn’t expecting that many people anyways.

Complimentary bread and pita bread with tzatziki was first served.

My lunch for today

Hello! Just wanted to make a quick post about my lunch for today : mixed green salad with balsamic vinaigrette and curry chicken saladĀ  on top and it is from Whole Foods. The chicken doesn’t look very appetizing in this picture, but it is delicious!Since school has started, I’ve been trying to eat healthier and have been eating at home most of the week. Since I get off class at 10:20 on Mondays, I am able to go home and make lunch. I’ll probably being doing more of these post since it is fast and easy to post.

Pearl Milk Tea Ice-Cream Bar

Hey everyone! So I just finished my first week of college and it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. Of course, now that I am back at school, I won’t be posting as many post as school is my top priority.

Few weeks back I purchased I-Mei Ice Cream Bar- Pearl Milk Tea at T&T. I thought it looked interesting, so I decided to give it a try. On one side is the milk tea flavour with pearls embedded inside, and on the other side is the “milk” flavour, which is just plain ice-cream.

I thought this was really tasty, the taste resembled a cup of pearl milk tea. I like the addition of the little specks of pearls embedded inside the ice-cream bar, it was like you were drinking a cup of bubble tea, but in ice-cream bar form.
